anna fidler paintings

another new favorite painter, anna fidler. she paints enormous watercolors and incorporates cut paper. it is definitely worth checking out the paintings on her website. they are amazing.

ikea mandal headboard

this headboard might be perfect for our room! the light natural wood color would match the closet and bedroom doors really well and contrast nicely with all the walnut wood. I would leave the shelves off of it. it does look like it's going to get dusty, but our bedroom needs something with some texture, I think. plus, the price is right.
tina's bedroom

this is a really inspiring bedroom from a sneak peak on design*sponge.
I still haven't decorated our bedroom yet...I just can't decide what to do there. this picture gives me lots of ideas though. I would love to get a headboard like the one in the picture. I've been looking everywhere for headboards but can't find anything that I like which is affordable. that one looks perfect. I also want to get a nice big rug like that for our room too but haven't found anything right yet either.
stenciled steps

I saw these amazing stenciled steps on apartment therapy.
this might be really cool to do on the steps by our front door!
gardening

yesterday, I planted this little area under our bay window. I was feeling completely overwhelmed doing the entire yard, so I started with this small project. it was a lot of work! there were so many stumps buried in there and tons of weeds, and I redid the brick border.
my goal is to make it feel like the window looks out over a little garden instead of a driveway full of cars. the plants I picked out should get pretty tall, and I love the purple and silvery leaves against the blue of the house!
our house is really starting to look nice! I'm excited to work on the rest of the yard now! figuring out the layout of the paths and plants in the front yard is going to be tough, and I hope it turns out as nice as this did.

more jackie tileston

I couldn't resist posting some more paintings by jackie tileston. these are gouache on paper. I wonder if it is black paper or white paper painted black? if it's black paper, I wonder where I could buy some because I love the look!

new front door

we finally got our new doors put in. I love our front door! we had it custom made for our house. these are bad pictures, but the windows are made from "water glass" which looks just like shimmery water. there is noticeably more light in our living room now because of the glass in the front door. it's great! our renovations are almost done!
